In 1973 AD, the Apollo missions had been completed and the Minerva missions had begun, creating lunar colonies on the moon. This sparked a international cooperation movement despite the Cold War. However, on the 13th July, SCP-2047 ("The Departure") occurred, swapping the Earth and a unknown planet (Not the one specified in the SCP, but an uninhabitable planet) leaving those in space alone without their home planet to return to.

Those in space eventually formed the United Earth Fleet aimed to somehow find the Earth again. A alien race, the Showmen, spectate their actions and plan a small part in hopefully their success.

The Remnants of Humanity

These are the 4 major powers left in space.

The Foundation:
They do not have the ability for true faster-than-light travel but used their own SCP, "Showmen Transit Plaques" which is a form of teleportation to travel in space. Their nuclear powered ships are huge and heavily armed to transport as much materials as possible. The Foundation has spread to all reaches of the solar system with 19 Foundation Orbital Research Compounds (Forks) on every major planet. On the edge of the solar system in the Oort Cloud lies the 20th FORC for the Scientists in charge of Project Heimdall.

The GOC:
The GOC had a lot more wealth but used thaumaturgical and conventional rockets for FTL travel based around the existence of the Earth. Without it, they were stranded and unable to move.

The GRU:
The oldest space presence, using the principle of SCP-2813 for their ships which uses the souls of dead Russian cosmists and the psychic energy of Russia ghosts to move. Without the Earth, these ships stopped functioning or became unstable. They have spread the furthest in distance away from where Earth used to be and are very independent from Earth. They are a threat to the Foundation as they don't know how it works.

The Central Investigative Department:
This is the Chinese space department whose ships were built to have minimal expenses to maintain, thus having fanatic and the most well trained crews. They ally closely with the GRU to continue Maoism (Essentially Communism).

The United Earth Colonies:
4413 people have settled in space on space stations and even proper colonies. They are leaderless.

The Showmen

They are one of the most technologically advanced civilisations who can also make memetics. Eventually they made entertainment out of watching planets develop. They gave Earth and many other planets the plaques to attempt to boost their ability to space travel. Due to the Departure, Earth has been one of the biggest hits within the Showmen civilisation and thus the remaining humans in space are specially aided by them.
