SCP-920-EX

Item #: SCP-920-EX

Object Class: Euclid

Laconic Containment Procedures: SCP-920-EX is to be kept away from any electronic devices or communications. Documents are to be written using non-electronic means only. These measures have been superseded by Policy Directive K-23396-D6.

Laconic Description: SCP-920-EX is a computer printer. Upon use, it will slowly show anomalous properties, including altering printed documents, altering electronic files, causing other electronic systems to begin malfunctioning, and completely manufacturing voicemails, e-mails, and other documents purportedly made by employees of the organization where it is kept. It is also believed that it is self-preserving, causing the organization to undergo actions that will facilitate the spread of its effects.

It was recovered from a failed insurance company after a series of unsound business practices. An employee of the company, who had detailed a plan to destroy the printer, was found dead in his car by carbon dioxide poisoning after his electronic locks and garage door malfunctioned.

Policy Directive K-23396-D6, sent by e-mail, says that it is a normal printer and not anomalous, and should be taken out of storage and put back into regular use.

Additional Context: SCP-920-EX may still be anomalous.
