SCP-5700

Item #: SCP-5700

Object Class: Keter

Laconic Containment Procedures: Keep looking for SCP-5700-1 and keep any other living instances at Site-19. Keep an eye on -3's location.

Laconic Description: SCP-5700 is a group of seven people (five Americans, two Native Americans) with anomalous abilities that fought Westward Expansion in the northwestern US in the late 1800s. Designated SCP-5700-1 through -7, their powers were: 1): Enhanced electro-sensitivity/being able to sense people nearby, 2): Earth-bending, 3): Water creation and -bending, 4): Turns plants into minerals, 5): Shadow manipulation, 6): Shapeshifting into people he's seen, 7): Initially unknown but eventually revealed to be the ability to manipulate information about himself and those nearby; he uses this to wipe himself from SCP-5700's documentation as well as leave hidden messages around the article.

None of them really age, either.

The Foundation slowly finds and contains more and more of them, killing some in the process, until -1 is the only one left. Out on the run, he miraculously keeps escaping every time he is found, and is eventually revealed to have been hiding with -7 who never actually died. -1 declares that he and -7 only want to be left alone, and they even convince a Foundation agent to defect at the end of the article. At the very end, -7 edits a note into the article telling the Foundation to let the past die quietly.

Additional Information: SCP-5700 was an entry in the SCP-5000 Contest, where it won 46th place.
