SCP-468

Item #: SCP-468

Laconic Containment Procedures: A one kilometer buffer area is to be kept around SCP-468-2. SCP-468-1 should remain in -2 and monitored by video.

Laconic Description: SCP-468-1 is an abacus that occasionally moves to perform math operations. These movements directly relate to a farming village (SCP-468-2) which has its structures move according to the abacus. The operations also affect animals which gradually lose all mental functions except for walking and stop requiring food or water.

The Foundation has deemed it necessary to let the effects continue even though removing the abacus stops the effects. The abacus seems to be making more complex calculations over time although its progression is not always linear and it can subsequently make less complex discoveries.
