Item #: SCP-3966
Object Class: Keter
Laconic Containment Procedures: A sample of SCP-3966-A and -B are to be housed at Site-66. Outbreaks of Sudden Unexplained Nocturnal Death Syndrome (SUNDS) are to be investigated.
Laconic Description: SCP-3966 is a protein found in human nervous systems that are missing certain sections of themselves that are actually "webs" sent into our dimension by hyperdimensional spiders trying to harvest sleeping humans' nerves and insides. The proteins appear to be missing sections because the missing portions are actually in the spider's dimension.
Explains that humans evolved the hypnic jerk, a twitch-like jerk that snaps you awake just as you are about to fall asleep, as a defense mechanism against nerve-harvesting. Sweet dreams.
Additional Context: SCP-3966 was an entry in the SCP-3000 contest, in which it won 10th place.
