SCP-306

Item #: SCP-306

Laconic Containment Procedures: Some frozen specimens of SCP-306 are kept at Site-101. People infected with SCP-306 must be placed in quarantine.

Laconic Description: A mushroom. Spores can infect humans, who after becoming infected will turn into a frog (SCP-306-1). These frogs are friendly, but touching them leads to being infected.

Additional Context: Originally, SCP-306 was called "Frog Rot" and was an article written by Dr Gears. However, it was later rewritten by Waterfire in 2013.

The original article by Dr Gears was much more different:

The original SCP-306 was a virus. If a person is infected with SCP-306, warts will appear on the person's skin. After a period of time, the warts will begin to fall from the skin, and the skin itself will begin to transform into a mass of warts, even transforming the bones and organs, leading to death.
