SCP-1686

Item #: SCP-1686

Object Class: Euclid

Laconic Containment Procedures: The area is to be fenced off and secured. There's a research site within it that is used for monitoring via satellites and such. If any anomalous fish (or other materials) are found, they're retained for study, with all other fish being incinerated.

Laconic Description: SCP-1686 is 290 square miles of land in South Dakota where it rains fish from special, localized clouds every month or so for about 6 hours at a time. The vast majority of the fish are alive, though they generally die on impact. Sometimes, the fish are anomalous, and have weird biological features, with some being really weird and not quite fish.

At one point a really bad fungal infection was introduced from the fish and had to be cleaned up. Later on, larger fish and whales and such were seen, some of which had to be covered up as weapons test on account of showing up on radar. A longship made out of fungus fell out of the sky and damaged the base, which was later reinforced to prevent further damage.
