SCP-078

Item #: SCP-078

Object Class: Euclid

Laconic Containment Procedures: Keep SCP-078 on the wall, physically unplugged. A separate switch controls power flow to the room's electrical outlet (always switched off except during testing). Everyone needs to know the location of the outlet's control switch.

Laconic Description: SCP-078 is a neon pink sign that reads "TOO LATE TO DIE YOUNG." If it gets powered on and a person sees it for ten seconds or more, the person will start to see extra sentences added to their handwritten notes. These messages refer to something that makes the person feels guilty. Over a week, the messages gain an increasingly negative tone. The person will have a mental breakdown and eventually won't even be able to eat. If someone views SCP-078 a second time, it compels them to attempt suicide.

Additional Context: If a person dies after viewing SCP-078, they might get incorporated into it (at the very least, it borrows their handwriting).
